كان محاولةً لاختبار سؤالٍ بسيط: متى يصبح تقليص الأرض أمرًا عاديًا؟
الاحتلال لا يكتفي باحتلال الأرض. إنه يحاول أن يجعل هذا الواقع دائمًا، وأن يحوّل ما فُرض بالقوة إلى "حقيقة" يُطلب من الناس التكيّف معها. عندها لا يعود السؤال: كيف ننهي الاحتلال؟ بل: كيف نتعايش معه؟
وهنا تبدأ السياسة بالانزلاق، حين يُطلب من الناس أن يقبلوا بما فُرض عليهم باسم الواقعية، وحين تتحول السيادة إلى بندٍ تفاوضي، وحين يُختزل دور الدولة في إدارة الخسارة بدل منعها أو إنهائها.
أما التطبيع، فلا يبدأ بتبادل السفارات. يبدأ حين يصبح الاحتلال خبرًا قديمًا، وتصبح المستعمرات أمرًا واقعًا، والتنازل لغةً سياسية، والاعتراض تطرّفًا. يبدأ حين نتوقف عن تخيّل أن العدالة ممكنة، لا لأنها انتهت، بل لأن التفكير بها أصبح غير عملي.
إذا استطعت أن تغيّر مساحة لبنان كما تختار مقاس قميص، فذلك لأن هناك من يريدك أن تؤمن بأن الحقوق أيضًا قابلة للتعديل.
المشكلة ليست أنك استطعت تغيير الرقم.
المشكلة أنك لم تستغرب أن ذلك كان ممكنًا.

This was not a store.
It was an attempt to test a simple question: when does the shrinking of a land become normal?
Occupation doesn't just occupy land. It tries to make this reality permanent — to turn what was imposed by force into a "truth" that people are asked to adapt to. Then the question is no longer: how do we end the occupation? But: how do we coexist with it?
This is where politics begins to slip — when people are asked to accept what was imposed on them in the name of realism, when sovereignty becomes a negotiating point, when the state's role is reduced to managing loss rather than preventing or ending it.
Normalization doesn't begin with exchanging embassies. It begins when occupation becomes old news, when settlements become facts on the ground, when concession becomes political language, and when objection becomes extremism. It begins when we stop imagining that justice is possible — not because it has ended, but because thinking about it has become impractical.
If you were able to change Lebanon's area as you choose a shirt size, it's because there are those who want you to believe that rights too are adjustable.
The problem isn't that you were able to change the number.
The problem is that you weren't surprised that this was possible.
